Under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA) 2024, the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Regulations (EECR) 2024 have been officially gazetted and will come into effect on 1 January 2025. Requirements for appointment, registration, and roles of energy managers for energy consumers exceeding specific consumption thresholds.
•    Energy Management Obligations:
Mandates for developing energy management systems, submission of annual energy efficiency reports, and energy audits.
•    Energy Intensity Label and Ratings:
Requirements for buildings to obtain and maintain energy intensity labels and comply with minimum energy efficiency ratings.
•    Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS):
Standards for energy-using products to meet minimum two-star ratings.
•    Registration and Fees:
Procedures and associated fees for registering energy managers, energy auditors, and relevant institutions.
